Angela’s House is a 501(c)3 Long Island based non-profit organization that assists families caring for children with special health care needs who are medically fragile, chronically ill or suffering from a life threatening illness. We assist families caring for their children at home and for children that can no longer live at home we have Angela’s Houses. This agency was founded by the Policastro family over 25 years ago following the tragic crisis they lived with their daughter Angela. This parent based origin has affected the approach and philosophy they apply to each family they assist.

Home Care helps to coordinate the complex array of home care services needed to support children living at home with their parents. This may include services such as: medical equipment, nursing support, therapies, and medications and making their homes handicapped accessible. We currently work with over 670 children in the community. Donations and grants are used as a last resort to purchase medical supplies, equipment and other support services that are not covered by other means.

Angela’s House are special homes that care for medically fragile children. The children who live here are cared for in a warm, loving home environment that is suited to accommodate their complex physical and medical needs. These homes have 24 hour nursing care. We currently have three homes located in East Moriches, Smithtown and Stony Brook. They are the first of their kind in New York State. In addition, the Stony Brook home currently cares for children dependent on ventilator to assist them with breathing.
